Privacy Notice

This notice explains how your personal data is processed when you use the website of Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality. In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, personal data is protected by the Personal Data Protection Law No. 89/2007.

While browsing the site

• This site uses no cookies; there are no advertising, tracking or visitor analytics tools.
• Your accessibility choices (text size, contrast, read-aloud and so on) are kept only on your own device, in your browser's storage; they are not sent to the municipality. "Reset to default" removes them.
• The site is served from hosted servers. As on every website, your IP address, the time of your visit and your browser details are processed briefly in technical logs for security and fault-finding.
• Map images are loaded from OpenStreetMap; when a map opens, your IP address is sent to that provider. Typefaces and other files are served from the site itself.
• Read-aloud uses your device's own speech feature; the text read is not sent to the municipality.

Faults, complaints and requests

When you report a fault, complaint or request, the name, phone number, description, address or location you give and any photo you attach are processed only so that the relevant department can examine and resolve your request and inform you. If you send your report by WhatsApp or e-mail, the terms of those services also apply. Please do not share other people's details in your request unless necessary.

E-Vezne

Debt enquiries and payments are made on E-Vezne, a separate system of the municipality. Your subscriber, registry or notice number and your payment details are processed there; your card details are not held on this site.

Purpose and legal basis

Your data is processed to carry out municipal services, to resolve your requests and to fulfil the municipality's legal obligations, within the duties given by the Municipalities Law No. 51/1995 and related legislation.

Who it is shared with

Your data is not sold and is not shared with anyone for commercial purposes. Only the municipal departments dealing with your request, the technical providers whose services are used (within their tasks) and, where the law requires, the competent authorities have access.

How long it is kept

Your data is kept for as long as is necessary for the purpose it was processed for and as provided in the relevant legislation; when that period ends, it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You have the right to learn whether data about you is processed, to access your data, to ask for incorrect or incomplete data to be corrected, to ask for data processed unlawfully to be deleted or destroyed, and to object to processing. You can make your request in writing to the municipality or to the e-mail address above, stating your identity.
